Centenary of St. Teresa of the Andes

This year the Discalced Carmelite Order commemorates the centenary of the death of St. Teresa of the Andes, a young Chilean Carmelite Nun.  She died on April 12, 1920 in the Monastery of Los Andes in Chile from typhus at the age of 19.  “God is the joy of my life,” was the theme song of her short life, lived with extraordinary charity and heroic virtue.  This young Carmelite Saint is a testimony of the “perennial youth of Christ’s Gospel” and a model for all consecrated religious, who have dedicated their lives to God and His Church.  Let us give thanks to God for her radiant life and witness!  July 13th, 2020 we invite you to join us as we celebrate her feast day during our annual Novena honoring Our Lady of Mt. Carmel.

St. Teresa of the Andes, pray for us!
