Fr. Juan Elias Medina is a Discalced Carmelite Friar of the California/Arizona Province of St. Joseph.  Father entered the Order in 2002. He studied philosophy at Mount Angel Seminary in Oregon and was then chosen to study theology at the Teresianum in Rome. After completing his studies in 2010, Fr. Juan Elias made his Solemn Vows as a Discalced Carmelite and was then ordained to the priesthood in 2011.  His journey as a Discalced Carmelite has led him to California, Oregon, Italy, Egypt, Spain, the Holy Land, Uganda (where he served in the Carmelite Mission of his Province for two years), Arizona and the El Carmelo Retreat House in Redlands, California where he is currently stationed.

Our novena will be focused on Our Lady’s role as we celebrate the Centenary of the Founding of our Diocese. Each Mass will be devoted to a different theme with a special significance for the Centennial such as the Immaculate Conception (patroness of our Diocese), Our Lady of Prompt Succor (Patroness of Louisiana), Mary, Pillar of Faith, St. John Vianney (secondary patron of our Diocese), Mary, Mother of Fairest Love and others, climaxing with the Solemnity of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel on July 16th.

We invite you to join us in thanking God for all the blessings bestowed on our Diocese through the intercession of Mary during this Century of Love.
